Picked this original steel roadster and duece frame up from a friend for a good price...I'm going for late 50's look i'm thinking...I need ideas. My only plans so far is its going to be a highboy, running blackwalls with steelies and caps. I'm debating on the motor because I have access to a 331 Caddy OR an old rocket motor. Frame has been pinched already to fit the body

I'll be there in two weeks. I'll call you guys and we'll have to hook up.

  6. The old Olds ? made a ton of power.
They worked well in stock ski boats, only for awhile though.
My uncle had one,455 jet deal.
Started knocking & shut it off before it ate itself.
Those Olds' engines are powerfull units!

I saw an independant front suspension that looks almost like a straight axle front end but with coil overs that would be a good start and some 22" wheels with rubber bands stretched around them.:)

Really though, it looks like a good start.

    Whose hemi headers are those?

I'd go with the Olds since the parts are quite a bit cheaper. Also, because I'd like to buy the 331 Cad off ya... ;)

Looks like a killer start Thomas! I would go with the Olds motor, or you could just suck it up and get a Hemi!

Thomas, looks great. I like Rockets, but I think Caddy's are the coolest motors ever. Just my opinion. Hope to see you this weekend. If you make it by the shop on Saturday (earlyish), you can see the interior Sean just finished up in Boyd's car for the Power Tour before it leaves.
I've also got an Edmunds 2x2 that would look nice on a caddy if you go that route.
