This body (being channeled and the dash insert and the color, if this is the same color it was) looks like the famous Bill Moore '32 roadster from San Jose, CA., finished in '57, driven and shown around that area. Engine was Cad or Olds, car had matching motorcycle fenders all around, much chrome. (front spring & axle look like the orig.)
Car was a San Jose Autorama show winner, every time it entered.

Bill sold the car in '74, to a young kid that had some 'new money', Richard Lorenzo of Santa Clara. Richard laid rubber in his driveway one day, wrapping up the rear fender on the right side. (did a little body damage to the reveal at top of well on right 1/4 panel)
Look for an old repair there.
That was the last I saw of that car...the yellow beltline would be 'recent'.

That frame sure looks salvageable to me. Cut the added on junk off and restore what is left. JMO

You should have seen the first 34 frame I restored as a hotrod. If it has the correct Vin# I'd sure repair it. Check out some of the restorations done by a few HAMBers before you are so eager to shit can it. If you buy a streetrod frame, all it takes is a big check book. Restoring an old hotrod takes more than that if you have the courage.:D There was a time when you had to fix it instead of shit can it. We've gotten lazy. IMHO

Tommy, l agree we have gotten a bit lazy. The frame for my 33 was a hay wagon that had all sorts of shit welded to it and l've saved quite a number of stock frames...we'll see about this one.

Big Al, depending on what l can find out about the car l might restore it. If l can't find enough info l'll build it to my liking with a lot of the elements of the origional.

If you decide to cut loose of that frame, I would be interested. Also be careful about trying to dig up history on an old hot rod like this, As if you find the answer to your question, You are stuck with restoring it. trust me I know what I am talking about. Having to rebuild someones elses Dream car is not all it is cracked up to be. Bottomline is if that is the Bill Moore 32 Then it will never be yours, It will always Be Bill Moores car, And All you can do is put it back to the way it was. And the fun in that wears off quickly. Anyhow goodluck And weather you find any history on it or not, It is Cool As hell, You are very lucky to have been able to buy something like that these days.

Also Something that might help is Take the serial number off the frame to a title service and see how far back they can trace ownership.....I did this a few years ago on one of my 32's and found out how many owners it had since 1954....maybe worth a try....

I don't think that's the Bill Moore roadster.

His had shaved door handles, a trunk instead of a rumble seat & different dash.

All those could have been changed over the years but rarely do you see someone convert from a trunk to a rumble.

I'm not sure of the cars history and either way l'm stoked.
I looked today at the rear panel and there are no signs of pontiac tail lights that l could see???
I looked at the frame more today and One thing l really know is that it's shit!! Great for patches but no good for a driver, and since there is no definitive history l'm o.k. With slavaging what l can.

Stripped the rear panel because it was all cracked up on my Deuce roadster. I found patch panels brazed in...I ran upstairs to get some 50 Pontiac lights that fit perfectly. it made my day. They were installed 1/4" off ;-) side to side.
