A friend just found this helmet and has no history on it.

    Can anyone identify the painter?

    Thanks in advance

Thanks @Robert J. Palmer- it seems as though this McCormack raced in the late sixties early seventies.

If it is the same person, then the plot thickens, as the helmet was found in the US, not Australia

Sounds like Mr. McCormack picked up a ride hereabouts, (whilst on a visit? Or tour?)
Probably visiting, so didn't bring his helmet. Bought one here and had it 'personalized', for use here, and for prosperity.

In 1961 the Aussie John Mc Cormack was in Tasmania and his career including winning the Australian Drivers Championship three times had yet to kick off. The helmet and the man are very unlikely to be connected.
