hey guys, I just bought a '66 Coupe Deville, ya it's not HAMB friendly. as usual, it needs an altitude adjustment. I know there are some Cadillac owners here and I'm seeking info on how to properly bag these cars. i was told that the front is really easy. what is a good setup for the rear, 2-link, 4-link? thanks for the help
Just Leave The Rear Stock It Will Sit Really Low Cuz The Frame In The Back Of That Thing Slopes Up So Its Good As It I Have Done 2 And Depending On Tire Size They Lay Hard. Need Anymore Info Pm Me
Yup. My '64 Olds 98 is essentially a Cadillac, same chassis. We kept the rear suspension and just replaced the springs with bags, sits great. I used bag cups that were made for a 91-96ish Chevy Caprice and they fit in there perfectly with no cutting.
pm PORK on here... he actually designed the kit lots of places use for later caddys... he works for suicide doors
I got my 64 down about an 1-1/2 in off the ground, made my front I arm 2in lower by cutting the center out a little and dropping the mounting point of a shock wave 2in lower than what it was supposed to be. The rear i took what came with the kit and shortened the cup stand 2in. Air ride kit for a 60-62, they didnt have a kit for a 63-64
yup, just bags and cups, no 2 link or 4 link. make sure in the front that you make some room for the bags to articulate. its a little tight up there. slam xs7 seem to be the best choice for the front becuase of the weight. good luck.. kel
i wanted to bump this back up because I wanted to get people's opinions on the best air bag for front and rear that can handle the weight of the car. blkf250 suggested the Slam XS7s, wouldn't the RE7s be ok?
i made new lower arms on my 61 out out of box tube becuse my springs were on them and they seemed flimsy. and the flex line to rear brakes was to short for thew lift with firestone 2600# bags
Airlift 2B6s or 2B7s would work great too. if there is room and your worried about it run the bigger 2B7. i ran some 2B6s on the front of a 70 Monto SS with a big block (after the 2B7s blew cause they rubbed. no room up ther for them) and much to my surprise it lifted fast, plenty high enough and rode great... i'd go with the Airlift sleeve bags out back. they are PLENTY strong enough for the weight and will give a nicer ride than a double convaluted bag.
