    1) In the "HA/GR World", what is a good wheelbase length --and WHY??

    2) What is the economical steering box to use? How are you mounting it?

I am 6 foot tall and don't like my knees under my chin. Add to that an inliner and there is just not much room left over at 120" wheel base (the max.). I even hung the battery and fuel cell out back.

I have heard that the mustang box works well and there is a HAMBer that might make a pitman arm for you. I run a regular dragster box...and I had to set up a bell crank system to reverse the direction of the box to run a suicide steering arm...and it is not the cheap route by any means.

Wheelbase just depends, like he said, how long does it HAVE to be for eveything to fit....... We reversed a corvair box and extended the steering arm out the side.

  4. Our chassis's over here in Oz range between 115" to 117".

Steering box wise, we're in the process of adapting mid 60's F100 box's, and also early 4wd Toyota Hilux units

    Cheers,
