This old racer was in the swap meet and after a long "look it over and scratch my head".... this guy walks up and asked me what I think the owner was askin' for it. I had no idea. Then he tells everybody another guy had just called the owner and about passed out when the owner told him $25,900....

This guy has to be yankin' my chain! Anybody else hear anything on it???

No info on the $$$ price ... but he had it at the Knoxville NSRA 2007 event ...
across the street on a trailer with a " For Sale " sign on it ... :(

  4. That should be put in a stock car museum as is.

  5. Aren't these the two cars that were posted earlier where the guy bought them both for less than $100?

I wonder what it would be worth after it came home from the sandblaster's? :D

  7. thats just a smidgen to much TV and barrett and jacksons watching.....
cool car, they should save it like that, but what do I know anyways....

  8. 25 would probably take it. History is hard to come by. Since it will only be what it was once, the price is what it is. Most body men on the board here could whip that body into shape for $100,000, and the frame and running gear could be taken care of for half that. So, for less than $200,000, you have a totally restored piece of history. What's the problem?

    It may very well be.

I just figured this guy would wait til a crowd was around the car and then tell his story about the phone call and 25,900 asking price for shits and giggles. Some old farts are funny that way!

$25, 900 for THAT? Not to this girl and hopefully to none of you here.! No offense, but Mitchell (Tn?) Speedway was not a famous track back in the day, Bill Reecer aint exactly Bugsy Stevens or Fred DeSarro and that 'race car' looks as it'd been submerged in a lake since '51. Unless somebody collects rust to snort or whatever, this one isn't worth more than the crusher value.

  11. the $25,900 asking price hasn't been confirmed and the owner wouldn't give me a price. on ebay the starting bid is $250 with no reserve. we will find out in 6 days 22 hours what a buyer thinks it's worth

With that supposed price, it makes these bodies look like a bargain:

    $800

    If I remembered right... $1600

    and $2600

i don't doubt the guy is asking 25 for it, but i doubt he expects to get that for it. he's probably having fun using it as a conversation piece.

there's some interesting fab work there! check out that pitman arm, drag link, and steering box welded to the frame.

i think it'd be interesting to "finish" it as the ultimate "patina rod" looking like it just drove out of the woods after 50 years.

looks like some cool cars for a goodguys show.

as for the 32. if there was a part someone could use there I did not see it. it would be very cool yard art if you had a good yard for it.

just plant it out next to the barn and let the berry bushes grow over it

not sure how much 32 ford yard art is, but it has to be more that the 46 dodge pickup yard art I had a few years back. used it as a back drop for my photos of my vintage bicycles and antique toy collection
