i want a nailhead....but im stuck with the classic sbc 350 because its all i have to afford.

 

You can find a Nailhead for as little as $500

 

Yep he's right. I got the whole Wildcat with a recenty rebuilt 401 for $500.....

 

ohhh nooo, they're a real lot more $$ than $500...you should just stick with your classic sbc and stop looking any further for a Nailhead. Those guys that are runnin those Nailheads never really liked them any ways!!

 

so what's the realistic horsepower/torque ratio for nailheads? how high can you go?...are they reliable engines? they look and sound great...I dont know the dry lakes racing history of these engines? were they just as cool to have other than a flathead back in the 50's?

 

Ya there no good why would you want to be different from everyone else. Keep your SBC and be just like them

My last post here was 2/2/09. Moving slowly on the deuce but the engine and Tremec are in the car for locating the steering column and building the floor pans.

I needed to make a firewall recess for the distributor. An early '70s GM vacuum accumulator tank for headlight door actuation, cut in half, fit the bill

I'm starting to get excited!

I'm using a Vega box, a 1934 Ford steering column with the original ignition lock that I have cut down, and a '37 banjo wheel

 

I know I'm kinda late on this thread but heres my 364 ready and waiting for the rest of the car to be ready!

 

This thread couldn't have popped up at a better time. I just bought a 65 Rivi with the SuperWildCat 425 with factory 2 x 4s. Pictures coming soon.

 

im looking at 425 nailheads for sale....and looks like you can get a complete car for around $2000 with an original running engine.....sounds good? saw a 64 wildcat on craigslist for 1900 says the engine and tranny are in great shape
