wow, what a couple of weeks it's been. won't bore with all the details, but i got a new job that will allow me money AND time to work on the hot rod. sold one of my motorcycles to help fund bills while i was jobless and fund some of the hot rod. got the sedan paid up and got her home this afternoon. big thanks to tomcat46 and my buddies jim and AJ for the help. for those who haven't heard, i'm going for an early 60's style rod. it's going on a '28 buick frame, getting an olds posi out back and a 55 f-100 front axle, 56 f-100 steering box and column. sticking in the dual quad 461 olds i have (while i collect funds and a trans for the 346 caddy that i also have,) and a switch pitch 400 trans. wwII oxygen tank up front moon style with a bigger tank hidden out back and below, guide headlights, 40's international under dash heater unit, 5ish inch chop with no channel, vinyl top rather than filled, grill will likely be the early 40's chevy (i think) that i have. this is going to be my year round, every day driver. i have a pretty good amount of work ahead of me but i'm so excited i can't even take it. i dragged one of the seats i'm going to use out there and sat in it for about an hour dreaming and making car noises thanks to my new job and several side jobs and other extra income that i know is coming, i hope to have it driving and in primer with no bullet holes within 3 months. i'll have the funds but we'll see how the time and energy hold up i'll be sure to keep you all posted as she goes. ignore the current position on the frame though, i still need to bob the rear rails and channel the back over the kickup.
Looks good- I like the frame choice! Hey, if you're not going to use the front spindles, would you be interested in "passing them on"?
