Ive seen the street where our shop is get pretty high with flood water but this is crazy. I have a foot of water in my shop right now and its still rising. we had to wade through waste high water just to get to the door. Hopefully tomorrow the water will drop and we can get it cleaned up. Its a mess!!

I just painted the firewall my dads 37 chevy coupe in the backround and put the big block in it on friday, lucky i got it in or else that motor would have been on the ground and filled with water.

I have a fresh 331 cadi with hydro on a dolly on the floor that is inches away from being under water,im kinda nervous to see it in the morning,

    Heres our parking lot

Holy CRAP, that sucks! Hope you have good insurance. There is a lot of stuff on the brink of getting really messed up (not counting what already looks really messed up).

I am only about 90 miles from you and was feeling bad cause I couldn't get outside to work today with all the rain. Not feeling so bad now...

Good luck with getting through that.

How fast would water run in if you were to keep the doors shut and run a pump to get it out of there? When I lived up in Iowa many years ago, we had a shop that would flood occasionally due to development and a change in the runoff. We had pretty tight doors, and an 1 1/2 trash pump could stay well ahead of the water that leaked in through the doors, as long as the water outside wasn't more than 8-10 inches deep. We'd pump water out a window, same one we would crawl through to get in the shop when it was flooding.

Man, sorry to hear that. But you have at least one consolation, unlike the guys in the gulf states, it isn't salt water. Keep bailing... Gary

  12. I feel for you. As some know my folks and us got our storage units flooded out last year. Cleaning up from a flood is a bitch, I am still finding stuff I need to clean :(

    that sucks.

seems like weve been getting the '100 yr. rain' every 6 months or so..

    could be worse though.

good luck w/ the clean up.

  20. Man that is a sight that turns a guys stomach. We had a shop that flooded once and that left over silt gets everywhere. We scaped the floor for about 6 months straight and it seems like we could always find more of that shit lurking in the corners and underneath the damndest places. I hope thing get better for ya soon >>>>.
