My RANT: FAKE 1949 Chevrolet Fleetline "Deluxe" Front Fender Emblem. It seems that every example on EBAY, even the claimed OEM, are not the real deal. I have a old photo which will not reproduce good enough here, that shows a slighted scripted "Deluxe" on the side of our 1949 Fleetline, and every example I see now on EBAY shows cookie-cutter bold lettering. Does anyone have a photo of the confirmed read deal? Thanks in advance
Is this what your looking for...this is a original not a reproduction.... Sent from my QTASUN1 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
To be honest your examples, to me, do not look like 1949 Fleetline fender script. As I said my example would not reproduce at all but here it is, magnified several thousand percent, the best I could do in Photoshop.
To be honest ... I didn't say what year it was ...you just made the comment that yours were slightly scripted so I was just showing you the style that they call scripted....to be honest the screwed up picture you have posted looks like the ones that are supposed to be on it and that look like the ones your calling cookie cutter emblem's.... question if you have some on your car now , I believe that is what you said, what is wrong with yours......and why can't you get a better picture if you have the car in front of you...just curious...if you want the type that came on the car from the factory you are going to have to settle for the fake cookie cutters because that's what was on them .......good luck.. Well thanks now I know that it came from my old Rambler... But like I said I was showing that as a example of what scripted looked like wasn't exactly sure of year or make ...just it was scripted like GM and it was an original and not a reproduction....but now I know that it was from my Rambler that I no longer have.....and I have had several early 50's Chevrolet 's in fact I have a 50 Bel-Air HT. at this time ... I would go out and get them emblem's but they are off the car and boxed up at this time ..... Sent from my QTASUN1 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
For me the biggest clue is in the capital "D", in the lower left corner, the "D' slightly drops below the other letters. it's not curled or extended to the left, but a very short dip. Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me but I think I see it.

Just a couple more to sum it up......cool cars ..that is one of the early Chevy body types that I have not owned yet.......good luck with it... Sent from my QTASUN1 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
