So not that I need another project, but I saw this coupe last week on the H.A.M.B.. I thought it was neat, So I did some trade work with "fastrnu" here on the H.A.M.B.. Worked out great cause I was going over to the Monroe swapmeet anyways last weekend. Bob was nice enough to bring it up there for me, Thanks again Bob:D I got it home Saturday but did not mess with it till last night. I got the body up on a frame with rolling axles under it. My brother came over and we started throwing other stuff on it that was laying around. Don't really have a plan for it yet, just playing around with it now. What do you guys think so far?
Here it is saturday night rolling through Levenworth

I hate you....and your brother. These pics that Chris was relaying to me last night gave me nightmares....probably only because it looks like a perfect specimen for a drag coupe and your ass will probably put a banger in it.

    Good score.

I told your brother 303 Olds with a 4-71 and 4 97's on top (or a staggered 4 carb non blown engine would be cool). Olds rear with skinny 7.10 slicks and another 2 inches taken out of the top.

  4. Damn I like the T's! Good luck on the project and keep us posted with the progress.

  5. Nice..I now regret selling all my 26-27 coupe stuff. Looks like a nice solid body and model A frames look great under them...

    Sweet sweet sweet!!!!!!!!!

  7. Gosh it looks rad! We were literally looking around the shop for things to add to the car. The shortened grill is 4 pieces being held with clamps :D Cool part is it was channeled long ago on an A frame (we figure anyways) and it plopped right on the frame and a couple bolt holes lined up!

Sure. I figure there really ins't a more suitable power plant for that car besides maybe a Hemi or a full house flatty with straight 4x2 intake on top. But since I'm building a Hemi coupe I certainly didn't want another when your brother gives me this one. So yeah I guess Olds or Flathead. You really don't see many mid 50's drag cars with Flatheads being built these days. Might be cool.....slow but cool. Ha!

Plus I know you love Olds engines and thought you might have some of those parts you had laying around before you went gay aka yblock.

You titled this thread "My new 26/27 T Coupe".

    You obviously need eyeglasses.

That car is at least 83 years old.

I feel sorry for you so I will be happy to come up to Washington and take that old thing off your hands.

I will also throw in a pair of glasses so you don't make the same mistake again.

On second thought forget the glasses and just keep making the same kind of mistakes and call me so I can keep helping you out.

Take another 2 inches out of the side windows (leaving the rear and front windows the way they are), pie crusts on chrome-reverse wheels, and a blown 354, small-back bucket seats, a 3-point roll bar and white tuck n roll interior panels would be just about right.

DAMN I want to build one of those!!!!

Come get it. I can't fit all my cars in there anyways! sounds like you got it all figured out how YOU wanna build it ;)

  18. You know what you need....own an early car with a souped flatty in it. Your dead if that don't get you going :D Fast, slow, whatever. Theres nothing like driving a flathead powered hot rod....even if the SBC's can pass you ;)

I'm debating if I should take more out or not. It's got an old chop on it, 6" and 7" angle chop.

  21. That looks bitchin as a roller. Please keep the chopped down radiator shell.

Well I did love the flatty in my Merc. It drove awesome for sure and I think they are definitely thee coolest engines. It just sucks that you can drain your 401k trying get a little power out of them. 33 will get a flathead as we discussed. That'll be pretty exciting when it's on the road.
