Are you gonna powdercoat them with a Dow7 or whatever coating? Or Polished?

There was a '56 Chevy that was built by two teams including Troy Trepanier and they had these machined wheeles that they had polished, then shot peened then powdercoated dark grey and they looked like magnesium. Pretty cool.

That is my plan exactly, I was gonna polish the lips, then hit the rest and then anodize the rest. It should be a goos look when done, I cab put a tint in the anodizing and try and get that old look. I finished the rim edges inside and out with the curve so they have that old look......

Looking good! Rudy was telling me you had something special going on with the wheels when I asked why the divco's were coming off, but damn, those are awesome!

What color/paint did you use on the frame? It's not super glossy and kinda looks like a chassis black.

Yeah it looks good! Kinda of like a stock '33 chassis color although seems to have a milky depth to it which separates it from a regular old semi gloss single stage. Keep us posted!

Nickel wish bones front and rear but skipped the polish process and then Scotched bright them to a nice finish. Trying to stay very raw and "Stock" looking over all but a bit of Race in it.

Cool, going to be tough looking machine.

  23. Hope those backing plate to spindle fasteners are just for mock-up. You need more thread engagement on them; should have at least a couple threads on the bolt protruding through the nut.

I was wondering the same thing. However doesn't it still need the actual overdrive unit that's located on Passenger side bell?

I'm guessing it's the changer for a two-speed quickie, or maybe it's just an in-out built into the quickie.

That is a nos 2 speed overdrive made by Franklin "overdrive" The shaft will have a lever in the car that will connect to the rod, so to get to the tract you use the overdrive and when you get there, you can race all day. It's a rare overdrive and very cool.....Don Ferguson gave it to me, so might be a bit cooler because of him. He also did all the work to install it into the rear end. That rear end is also a LOCKER.

Well that figures. A columbia would have been too "cheap and commonplace" for a build like this hahaha!!! Are you kidding me?!!!!!!! There is shit on this car I never new existed!!!!!! Keep it up!

However, I am kinda disappointed you started with a generic old '33 Ford 3w body and not something a little harder to come by like ......ohhhhh a 1936 Stainless Steel Tudor Body. ;)
