    Nope, I'm a virgin.

I just bought a sewing machine a few months ago.

  5. Did you work off a pattern for the headliner? There's a shop teacher on here with a shoebox project (@gijoe985 ) who's looking for one, just thought I'd see if you'd seen that build thread.

Look a few posts back, you can see how I made the template for the headliner.

  7. I remember seeing that before now, I completely forgot about it. When I saw the thread I just clicked the "Go To First Unread" link which skipped that.

I've been weighing my options for a stereo.

I was talking to a vendor at the last swap meet that will convert old radios to 12V AM/FM/AUX for $380.

It's a little pricey, but I liked the idea. The only problem, my car didn't come with a radio.

Factory radios for 49 Fords aren't easy to find, but I lucked out and found this one that
almost looks NOS, for $56 bucks.

I'll let you guys know how the conversion goes.

  10. that is intersting! I really want to find something to run six volt.

  11. Hope it works out. I was thinking of going with the one the Chris at Shoebox Central offers when the time comes. Its a little more but seems like a nice unit. $595 though.

The headliner and visors look great! What do they call the fabric you used on the headliner? Where did you buy it?

I have loved that headliner material sense I had a 56 Ford. I also put it in my 50. It is a off white color. Your car is turning out very nice.

I made the last couple of interior panels this weekend.

I had been putting off fabbing the panel for the deck lid. I just didn't know what to use.

    I finally found a nice solution - 1/8 hardboard.

It will easily bend to the shape, but it wants to spring back.

Turns out, if you wet the rough side, then bend the panel and let it dry,
it will hold the shape - awesome.

  24. Looks good, where did you get the hardboard from? I'm doing the interior on my model a now and that would work good for the quarter trim.

Lowes, it's called tempered hardboard? It's where the paneling/pegboard is kept.
