Thanks for the link. I did not know this.

Had an odometer setting here and just did it. Not tough once you are showing what is going on.

    I've been busy.

    One step forward, two back....

I just noticed that the S10 subframe offsets the engine 1 inch to the passenger side, but I centered the transmission in the crossmember.

So, I pulled the crossmember, notched it some more, and offset the mount.

In messing with the transmission, the shifter shaft started to just spin without stopping. I had to pull the pan, the nut on the shifter shaft wasn't tightened properly, and replace the shaft and nut.

    So, now....

I have the grill back in.

Now I'm waiting on throttle linkage, shifter linkage, etc.

So, I started working on the panel gaps.

The door to quarter panel gap, on both sides, was non-existant...

I'm setting all the gaps to 3/16"

    Cut weld, cut weld

The door gaps on 49's are great , aren't they ? LOL !! I'll be making the same "adjustments" to mine before I'm done too . It's really funny , because my friend Craig's '50 Shoebox has perfect 3/8" gaps all over ... go figure .

Your car's lookin' good , BTW . I'm not diggin' seeing it sit on those sideways cinder blocks though - looks dangerous .

Just a hint from a brick layers son..... You might want to turn those block so the column is vertical... There is no real structural strength the way that you have the blocks.... Believe me.. I had one break setting just the way you do...

He has jack stands under the car...?

This car is looking amazing man, every detail is perfect.
You mentioned how you mounted the cadillac hubcaps, can you show some pictures?
Will you be leaving it in bare metal for a while?

I decided that I needed one of Limeworks safety shifters...

So, out came the steering column again.

This will give me the proper detents, and park safety switch.

For a shift indicator, I came up with this...

I drilled a hole thru the shifter column and mounted the indicator pin.

Then marked the area above the column for the shifter positions, on masking tape.

I recreated this pattern on my computer, and printed it on waterslide decal paper.

This isn't a good pic, and it's not easy to see, but I think it came out OK.
