So this newbie here is sick of watching billet bleeding $70K trailer queens being built on the boob-toob for cable television production companies. Time to stop getting discouraged over supposed 'SHADE TREE MECHANICS' having hydraulic lifts, rotisseries, and endless budgets and get my hands dirty over a REAL rod. So with exception to the greatness of the HAMB classifieds is there any online rocks Ive yet to overturn in my quest for the neverending project? Heres where Ive been hunting so far: HAMB (of course) Classiccartraderonline (autotrader) Streetrodding.com DealsOnWheels.com Statesman.com Hemmings And few worthless unmentionables. Im fairly open to anything low budget and running pre-1955 and trying to limit my search to in-state (Texas) if possible. I plan on doing some footwork too at the local swap meets, shows etc as I hear about them. Thanks for helping this fish out.
Pig farming will get your nails dirty real fast, wild animal husbandry too and there's no welding involved.
Also try hotrodhotline.com and cars-on-line.com. And for really dirty hands, throw out your Charmin for a month. And welcome to the HAMB.
I just went and looked at a 50 Fleetline yesterday. It is near Kaufman, TX (about 30 miles SE of Dallas) Rear fenders were rough, but the rest of the body was straight. Dude is asking $3500 for it, which I think is a little high, but you might make him an offer. PM me if you're intersted, and I'll get you the # to call.
