    I pulled apart the door hinges, drilled them out for oversize pins. Online I've seen "adjustable" hinges for sale that allow you space the door out away from the hinge. The pre-made hinges are quite pricey and look pretty simple, so I made my own. Like the aftermarket hinge they just have 3 threaded holes in them, tighten or loosen the extra bolts for adjustment. New pins, sandblasted, satin black powder coated and ready to go.

    I want to convert an oil bath air cleaner to use a paper type element. I found this air cleaner online, the seller said it was for a 54-58 y-block with a 2 barrel Holley teapot. I didn't pay a lot for it and it seems like it will fit over the top of the carb with some slight trimming and it definitely looks the part. I don't see any photos online anywhere that show this air cleaner on a y-block and before I cut in to it maybe you guys can tell me if its rare or something special that I shouldn't mess with...
