My dad and I went to test fit the motor in today, but ended up being a long process.. We started putting the motor and tranny in, and about half way in we ran out of room between the tranny mount an the oil pan on the transmission, so we pulled the motor out and spend a couple hour grinding and beating and kicking the crap out of the mount to get it to come off, and eventually, it gave.. Pictures: My dad grinding the rivet heads off.. Also got those parts read for paint..
ever heard of POR15? Its good to use on the frame and stuff thats rusty. It basically is a thick paint that chemically ends rusting. It can be brushed on or sprayed. can't wait to see you get it all painted and done.
Hey! Yah, I've hear of the dtuff, when I take my bed off, that's what I plan on doing to the frame, but the primer I am using says it stops rust, but who knows if it does or not, thanks for the advice! Can't wait to see how your 27 comes out!
FWIW that crossmember is popular with guys building Model A's. If your not using it you might gain a few bucks toward your project. Just sayin............
Thanks for the adive guys! I think we are re-using it, just scooting it furthur back, but if not, the HAMBer's will have first dibs
Been getting the shop cleaned up and getting ready for the motor to be put in this weekend and to order the brake lines, master cylinder, and brake pads, and the wiring harness won't be too long after that, but school started the other day, so I am limited to working on the truck from 6-9
Major update!! Went on a pretty awesome trip to a friends house and got to look at some awesome cars!!

Time for updates!! I got my fender almost completely ready for primer: And primed my inner fender walls primed: And the major update is!! I got the cab off!! For this 100x nicer cab! Going to get it next weekend!!
The red coupe was bought new by this guy and he built it up as a real hotrod! Everything on that car is real original steel! He told me the drivers door is off another car cause he was speeding down the highway one night and it flew open (Suicide doors) and wrapped itself around the rear tyre Crazy stuff! Everything this guy has is real steel stuff! Yes, the 55 chevy and the buick and cars like that will be, but the rest of the stuff are for guys like us who can pick threw them and get what we need and for a fair price! I got my cab for cheap!! The parts that aren't taken will go to sweden to be used for hotrods there! It's a never ending cycle! Parts get shipped back and forth and he always has new cars there, it's crazy!
Thanks! Haha Thanks babe, can't wait for some help!! She definitely is a keeper She loves to help work on the truck!
Kick ass pictures there man, and good score on the cab. I went and looked at a cab for my truck that was on craigslist for $500. It was a total rust bucket and really made me appreciate what I have,. Anyway, keep it up and keep the pics coming.
Well I just burned an hour and half reading this thread. It's great to see your progress. My dad bought me my first car, a 32 five window channeled with no motor when I was 15, I still have great memories but not the car. Your doing a great job and glad to see a young guy on the HAMB.
Very kool, good luck on yours! Thank you! More pictures here in a few Thanks Ian! Loving the Caddy! That's an awesome first car! At least you have the memories! Thank you!

Nice, shiney chrome! All free! And more to come! The cab was only $30 More little odds and ends and custom parts next weekend
