are you going to run a hood w/ sides? its just that the top of Z down angle in front of the firewall looks a little funny. maybe level off the top to the firewall?

Looking good Shifts. Is the back end a bit low? It looks like the car is sitting level, which to me always makes it visually look lower in back. But I like the back end up a bit usually.

    Forget the flathead. GO 409!

  8. Came out pretty straight for an 18 pack...! [IMG] It's looking good Dave!!! [IMG]

Let me know when you come back to Milwacky...! [IMG]

Django, the wheels were just propped against car for the pic. I'm waiting on rear wheel adapters, so it really will sit about 3" taller in the rear when its done. It has a camaro 10 bolt rear & I wanna run my 35 ford spokes. Still kicking the idea of the 409 around, but its still a friggen chevy.DAVE

I wish I had your garage to work in!
Maybe I'd actually get something done.

Car's looking good. I don't care for 4-bar front ends, but your work certainly looks top-notch.

Well if anyone can build a trans to handle the 409 it'd be you.

Yes, shameless brown nosing / spamming, due to the fact he answered a bunch of question.

Lookin' good shifts, but if I might put in my 2 cents.
It's not too late to ditch the 4 bar in favor of split bones or radius rods. I see you're running a Vega box with cross steer, that shit works great with 'bones or rods.
I think if you're gonna run a traditional engine and a real steel body why use a visibly modern front end set up?
I like the stance of the car a lot and that body looks super clean.

How screwed is he gonna be that he didn't brace/square the body up before he cut it?

I've got pieces of an unchopped 30-31 coupe body that was channeled in the past (no floor now just angle iron body mounts about 6 in up). When I start to put it together, what is the best way to square it up?

It is gonna get un-channeled and then chopped.

  24. Nicely done!!!! Cant wait to see it glued together!!!!

Mark, the top is welded on, but the motor goes in this weekend. I just had some guy stop by & ask what I filled the roof with & I told him I used a roof section out of an old Tucker my dad had laying around for years LOL. He left. DAVE
