HTML: I will say, the bumper is far from chrome able, but after working on itevery night for almost three weeks, I'm pretty burnt out on it
Dig that bumper!!! Personal preference, I'd like to see the tip sticking out at least a 1/2" past the bumper.
Thanks man, Things got a tad outta control when I decided to prove to myself (and the world) what I was really made of and wanted to showcase my inner skills I knew I had. More pics coming today folks!
Once again, been bustin ass the last few weeks, and the pics don't really prove it. But you guys know the deal when it comes to that. Anywho.. Enjoy the pics Kids! So this fender was like Cottage cheese when I uncovered the 1.8miles of mud on it. I should have bought a new fender, but I had already gotten the headlamps done, and was looking for a challenge. So I tried shrinking all the stretched metal after dollying it.. Wasn't happening. So I took the route I should have taken hours before, and just ordered a new fender.. But then I realized i'm like every other hot rodder on earth when I opened my wallet. So Then I decided to bust out the 18ga and have a ball instead. Fitting front some more! Did you catch that hood welded back together action?!
I Make a lot of notes... sometimes I even write back. Sometimes when I'm bored. ( HA HA HA ) I do stupid shit with things that don't need to be messed with.. Like my rear sections of my exhaust for instance.. BOREDUM!
Anyway.. On to the front bumper.. Started with a 53 front that a friend happened to have in the back of his truck one day... Hope he doesn't want that back! I didn't take any before pics, because I had a few, er, beverages and forgot I guess..
Beautiful work Tim, can't wait to see this thing in paint. Keep it up buddy! Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
Tiny Updates, I took last week off work, and knocked out all the final bits of metal and bodywork. Its turning into crunch time!
Final Prime time! It really sucks masking off a car that you don't want to get overspray all over the bottom of the car and you don't have a booth!
ONTO PAINT! It turned out decent for being flat, there is a few flaws that drive me crazy, but being a perfectionist, I need to get that crap out of my head and just learn to enjoy what I have. We'll see how well the doors and fenders match, maybe I'll be repainting anyway!!
THANKS! I someday will paint it a little closer to the color of Tin Can's car, and NO I didn't copy him.. But the S.O.B beat me to it! LOL The paint company couldn't make the color I was after in single stage, so I had to do a slightly different color than what I was originally after. But I do like it. My favorite time of day to look at it outside is right when the sun is about to go under. It just looks so sinister and mean. Its one of those colors where High Noon really does it no justice. So I'm MEGA MEGA excited to see the rest of the car painted and assembled to see just how angry it looks! Thanks!
That was the biggest thing i had to get over too. It took my dad telling me to stop pointing them out to people for me to realize that 95% of them no one would ever notice without me pointing them out. I had to keep remembering *I* was the one who had touched every inch of the car .. *I* was the one who worked out all of the imperfections and spent countless hours pissed off at the little things .. and my eyes were the only ones gravitating directly to those spots. Only after excepting the fact that everyone else thought it was badass .. was i able to step back and actually see what i had created, without feeling like i let myself down after all of the hours and hard work. OCD is a bitch .. every once in awhile you just to sit back with a beer and a shop stool and admire your artwork. No matter what .. wizzin' that thing down the road .. everyones going to turn their heads, everyone is going to think that thing is sweet, and everyone is going to want it, and that my friend .. is what its all about! Great build .. been watching, now its getting exciting. Luke
Man this chevy looks bitching with paint! Very nice work Tim, spot on! Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
