IMG_4961.JPG IMG_4964.JPG IMG_4931.JPG I forgot I was going to post these, they're pics of pics because my old phone died...1st one is at Tony's place with his coupe and Hilton's black coupe (very cool car, had a lot of body mods) I left it there because the whole eastern half of the country got blasted with ice/snow that week. You can see the salty sliminess all over it. 2nd pic is en route (Indy I think). 3rd is when I first got it.

I had to lighten these up a bunch to see detail because of the huge amount of exterior light, so they look grey. It's really very Black! IMG_4832.JPG

I love how this thread has more photos of the engine than the car.;):D

IMG_4927.PNG Here's a little closer look at the semi-reversed firewall, a pretty trick Hilton feature that I really liked.

IMG_5727.JPG IMG_5737.JPG Ok guys and girls here's an update on my coupe: I flew out to Va. a couple weeks ago (geez, has it been that long?) and met up with my son and the rest of the Hilton/ Lombardi gang. We exchanged greetings, loaded our bags, took a few pictures and thundered off into a beautiful Virginia afternoon.

We had great driving conditions and out on the road the car just shines. The clutch worked great, Lincoln brakes were strong after they settled in and we adjusted them, steering was pleasantly predictable with no wobble or weird stuff going on even when running the, ahem, "posted speed limit". Bobby Hilton really has these cars dialed in. In 3000+ miles, we only had to snug up two bolts and we ran Hard!. We did have to add a couple rear leaves in Shreveport as the weight of my son and I and all our crap settled the pack enough to bump a little on Shreveport's glass-smooth:rolleyes:concrete joints.
I was curious as to how the big ol' Lincoln/ .630cam/ 8x2 combo would do in real -world conditions. This car is ALL about the engine, and it was built accordingly. Well, long story short: It Rocks! Sure, it's a little fussy when it's cold and it idles pretty high, it's a HotRod! but it drives very well even in traffic. The big cubes help the carbs work even at fairly slow speeds. I don't like lugging engines, especially new ones so I kept it geared up always and it just sings when it gets on the cam. I can't say enough good things about the work on the engine and the carb set up by Tony Lombardi and his father Ross. My phone mic blew out so I don't have any sound clips but my son does, I'll try to post them when I get them. It is raucous! It winds very freely, reminiscent of a 428CJ a buddy had in h.s.
