My 11 year old son bought a 1960 Ford short box off ebay yesterday. He has a few years to work on it before he drive to school but I thought it would make a very cool project.

That's great! My daughter just turned 11 and wrenches down in the basement with me but I could never picture her buying her own project. Good for him! :)

The pictures were great. The project will teach him patience and perseverance. But I have to ask ... is your son just barely 11 or is he a late, almost 12 kind of 11. Sure big for his age.
I imagine you will both enjoy the project.

Lowered, a little more forward rake, smoothed out the paint a little.

  22. This is great, my 12 year old wants nothing to do with my "old junk".

  27. I wish my dad still had his '59 F-100 when I was 11. It would have been a great hand me down. Instead he traded it in for something newer at the time which I'm still disappointed about so many years later.

That is waay cool. It's much better for a kid to be wrenching on old cars than wasting his brain on video games...

What an awesome project. Only thing me and my dad ever worked on together was an 80's granada with a bad fuel pump. Lmao but that's a whole nother story. Looking forward to updates!

He's kinda bummed I won't let him drive it. It runs pretty good but the clutch isn't in great shape.
