I'll be there but the car wont be ready for the road for a couple of weeks..........it's been sitting for a long time, needs tires, licensce/insurance and time to work the bugs out. I wish it would have arrived on time but it ended up being about ten days late. I wish I had a digital video camera.......if I can borrow one there will definitely be some YouTube action.
Yep.........it finally made it here Tuesday afternoon at about 4:30................about ten days later than expected.
Some of us "went ugly early". I think we'll be glad we did in just a few short years. The day of the '38 Deluxe/'39 Standard is quickly coming. Mutley, this is an awesome score. Put some headlights on it & call it done. I'm happy for you!! JH
That's even cooler than a "Thompson". NICE SCORE!!! I want to see one more picture of you in the car--if your smile will get thru the door. overspray
He's lucky I bought a house this year. When I saw that car I shit myself on the spot. It's a wet dream, incredible it was in Jersey. It is the real deal. There isn't a bolt on that car newer than 1963. Also, Muttley saved it from becoming a street rod. When I walked in the shop I found a billet-laden A-coupe with IFS there. The previous owner made a few comments about the things he planned to 'fix' on the 39 if it didn't sell. That thing sounds sweet too.
I owe you BIG TIME!!!! If you ever need anything from me just ask. More than I should have, but like Harrison said, I think I'll be glad I "overpaid" now in a couple of years.
Paid more than you should have bite your tongue, you only paid half of what it is worth, buying a survivor is priceless!...... you east coast guys missed out, he smoked it and that is with shipping. It definately went to a good home.
What do you know about those aftermarket headlights? My gut instinct is that the standard headlights are better looking, BUT the ones that are on it now don't bother me, and if they are some old hard-to-find pieces, I'd be inclined to keep them on the car. What do you think? PS: Chrome garnish moldings. Gotta love 'em.
They are aftermarket sealed-beam conversions. Every '37-'39 owner with a Western Auto within 50 miles of his house ran 'em. They ugly. They gotta go. JH
bro!...that is a NICE CAR! you know the next time I see you you're gonna take me for a cruise in it...man thats such a cool find..congrats!
Great Score!! I Saw That Car On Ebay And Had It In My Watch List. I Thought There Was Something Wrong When It Didn't Sell And It Got Relisted. I'm Glad To Hear It Turned Out To Be As Nice As It Is.
