On the tailshaft of the '66 muncie i'm rebuilding there is 2 spots in the middle of the reverse gear spline where it is counterbored with a clip in them. From a search i come up with them being a reverse anti-lash setup that gm tried for a while, is that right? are they indeed not needed? One of the clips is already missing, and the other one is chewed up is why i'm asking
