I am wanting to take the hood sides off my 36 Ford Roadster. This is a traditional car and I do not want to use one of the after market latch systems nor do I think I want to run leather straps.

Have any of you Guys come up with any clever hold down systems? Pictures or suggestions would be appreciated.

This was a serious post. I sure would be interested in any ideas.

  3. Years ago when running just the hood tops the simple way to hold the hood down was to use screen door springs both front and rear stretched from the right side to the left. HRP

  4. There is a guy here locally that has a Model A and he uses bungee cords from side to side. HRP

That is a very interesting thought. Maybe a a solid rod with 2 stiffer springs might add some pressure to hold it down on the highway. It would also be completely out of sight.

    Thanks for the post HRP
