Looking to mount my 32 ford body to my chassis. What kind of webbing do you use? Will webbing work from a tie down strap work. Webbing you buy from Bob Drakes is $ 45.00 a roll, kinda over priced. Let me know what you guys use.

Tie down straps will work, you can also use seat belt webbing from the local junkyard.

If I were building a 32 ford, I'd do it right and spend the $45 for the right stuff. Just my $45. :)

I am also buiding a 32 for dirt cheap. I will run the above suggestions rather than spend 45 bucks on a 5 dollar item. :D

anybody can afford to build a 32 "if" you can work with really bad sheetmetal and pieces...and more importantly..never having the urge to buy aftermarket 1-800 stuff.

A 20 foot roll of Body Webbing will cost $13.50 from Snyders, it is treated so it will not rot or squeek. That is affordable in my book.

Drive to your local Model A parts supplier and get a 20 ft roll of frame welt #A-3407 for about $15.

The local TSC Tractor Supply Store has conveyor belt type of material sold bt the foot. It comes in different widths so you can grab say a 12" wide strip and cut it into strips and you're done. I'd say it's about 5/16' thick and feels like flexible rubber so it won't move all around when setting your body into place.

Help me out here, does this webbing you are speaking of replace the rubber mounting pads? Along with the pads? 32's didn't have pads? So many questions, so little time ...

Any Canvas - Tarpaulin maker [ and some upholsterers ] should have webbings.
Use a polypropylene webbing , not polyester .
Both are very strong but the polyester has a wick effect [ it soaks and holds water ]

50mm [2"] webbing should sell for approx 50c-$1.00 a metre [yard]

  15. Old fire hose works real good.
