Just got an unrequested email from hotrodcompany.com . I didn't ask to placed on the list. Anyone else get this today?
IF you have bought something from them in the past you will get one. If you have not ordered, well you should.
I got it also and let Ryan know by email. I haven't heard back but I sent it late last night so I didn't expect one yet. I did not realize that was Tardel's place and I have bought from them. Kinda odd... I didn't like getting it thinking someone was harvesting emails but knowing it's from Tardel I don't mind it one bit.
The hot rod company is Sidevalves, that is what I got. I didn't get anything from Tardel but I also have not bought anything from him either.
I got one. I assume after reading this.... This email was sent to you because you are a valued customer of The Hot Rod Company or because you asked to receive updates and promotions from us. We will never share your information. Read our privacy policy. that I got it because I am an Alliance member, they are an Allliance vendor, and therefore have my details.
I wondered why ? I never bought anything from them and even being an alliance member id still call it spam ... Dave
The database programming was done by Harriet Maybeck Tolly, and the site designer was Michael Harrison here are the keywords: "streetrod, rat rod, hot rod parts including Stromberg carburetors, polished aluminum skull exhaust tips / scoops, Hotrod, Ck DeLuxe, Von Franco, Keith Weesner, Coop, Zombie, hot rod, hotrods, hot rod company, rod & Kulture, biker, kustoms, customs, coop, von dutch, side valve, streetrod, streetrods, ratrod, ratrods, ckdeluxe, custom, flathead, ford v8, v8, afs, flatattack, primer, kustom, kulture, culture, nsra, goodguys, dice, greasy kulture, von dutch, big daddy roth, ratfink, speed shop, events, wrench, shop rag, honest charley, rolls & pleats, magneto, freedom, harley davidson, choppers, sketches, hop up, barracuda, rev, james dean, wild ones, elvis, blue suede shoes, rockabilly, rock a billy, ford, dodge, plymouth, chevy, lincoln, mercury, coupe, deuce, mechanics, garage, greaser, t-shirts, made in america, pizz, underground, lowbrow, robert williams, kenneth howard, flying eyeball, streamlined, 1932, body shop" From their website. The only redirection script I find is urchin.js from Google-Analytics. Does anyone know the author(s) above? </pre>
I got the Hotrod company e-mail too..not bothered by those types of spam..its the ones ..like.." we want to buy your home"..or...some other bull shit you know is a scam to get more info out of you..
I also received this. I know who they are but have never dealt with them before. I would not mind the "cold call" if I knew Ryan had ok'd it. Maybe it would be cool for Alliance Members to receive notices from Alliance Vendors. I would not have a problem with that. Just ask me first is all I ask. Mike
I remember same thing happened not long ago and it was declared on here that it was illegal But now its O.K. if a big name does it.??
The Hot Rod Company is a big name? Pffft.... They haven't been harvesting emails. They simply sent an email out to the Alliance list. I think next time I let someone do that, I'll make sure there is a special alliance offer involved.
