Technical Mopar Steering Wheel Adapter

Discussion in 'Traditional Customs' started by Mitchell de Moor, Aug 10, 2016.

  1. A freind of mine has a 1953 Plymouth Cranbrook and he got a metal flake wheel from Mooneyes for his birthday. We have the original wheel off but can't seem to find an adapter big enough to fit over the spline. Anyone ever try to put an aftermarket wheel on one of these? Or know where we could order or buy one? We're in ontario, Canada but could order from the States.

    Thabks!

  2. No such animal. The only way to do it properly that I'm aware of, is to take the stock wheel and chop it all apart until you get down to the centerpiece to Mount on the actual column shaft. Then use that to make an adapter for the moon-eyes wheel. I've done it, it's a pain but works well.
