  10. In his Army days many years ago, my father was hitchhiking back to Fort Benning after being home on leave and got picked up by a moonshine runner in a souped up '40 Ford coupe. The shine runner was traveling on business and had a load to deliver, but he was a WW I veteran who was not about to leave a soldier on the side of the road.

    The car was built by a calif guy who had a car sales called Los Gatos somthing or other. On his info sheet he stated he found the car in a back yard.At the moonshine festival I thought the best new build of a trip car came from calif. I thought the look of the front fenders viewed from the front added to the real trip car look.The next year he brought a 57 ford with a cammer engine. The car was also for sale in Hemmings several years ago. I hated missing it as I would love to own it, So PM me if it is for sale.
