Would it be possible to take wheels like these, and weld the 'kidney beans' shut with some filler metal, so there like a smoothie? I like the look of these, just wish they never had the finger holes.

i suppose it's possible although with the time you would have in 4 of them and the fact i think balancing them out and the possibility of warping them it would be easier to find a set of smoothies !

Yah. Any experienced welder/metal smith could do it, but the painful hours of grinding/sanding would be stressful. As for balancing, spin them up without tires and tack weld a small weight inside then grind the weight until they r perfect (which new wheels are not). Warping or distortion is not a problem if you know what ur doing.....MIZ

Been there done that. Spot weld backup plate behind the hole. Fill with bondo. For a perfect undetectable job, the finish sanding is the hardest part.

I think the Wheel Vintique and Newstalgia "Smoothie" are very close to that w/o the holes. They are just always pictured w/ the center caps on. I could be way off tho.

I have a set of American Racing Wheel Smoothies that look like what you want. Chrome, though.
