That's an excellent point.
Hell ya chop it i used to work at Oddball Kustoms i built a 27 T cut 8" out of it and channeld it 3" over the frame was a little straining on the neck but got used to it CHOP IT
Not just chop it ..................... Chop it and Rake it!
chop it till you can hardly see
10 inch chop. perfect.
Here is a 10 inch chop, 4 inch channel. The seat is on the floor and im 5'10''. Fits me good. Good Luck! T's are way under rated!
Everything has been chopped so much anymore that a chopped car looks normal to a lot of us. A phone booth on the other hand is unique and the T coupe is one of the few that really lends itself well to that style of build.
If I had a '27 I might like to build myself one of those wierd looking all tilted and off kelter cars. I don't remember the nmame if it but there was one way back when that was a pretty famouse show car, I think one of the fellas has a pic like it in his avitar.
I'm afraid I'm going to have to go with the chop...even though you're trying to go with the 60's feel..I just never liked Tall Tee's...d32
Hackman, that thing is very cool.. I even like the color............
My 27 body comes home next week. Gonna slam it but NO chop.
The guy that owns this is about 6 ft 3 and 230 pounds it a 4 speed car and he drives it like it's a gocart.
dont chop it.
Mine is chopped 10" and have tube chassi
The total hight of the car is 47"
And when you look at this the first thing that comes to mind is "sixties show rod"??!!
yea that's the one my favorite from when I was a little kid.
I know its just wrong but its just wrong enough to be right.
Get it running and driving first chop it later. Ts are an exercise in putting ten pounds of crap in a five pound sack. Steering, master cyl, shifter, clutch pedals and linkage. Make it all work before you cut 5" out of the roof and realize you have to open the door to roll the window down.
Don't chop the Coupe, The cool factor on the T's is how tall the top is. IMO.
Well I'm building the whole thing out of collected junk I have. I'm gonna mock it up before I do anything. But the plan is to at least get it up on wheels by spring.
That sounds like a plan. But ya better hurry we are having early spring here right now.
Chop the hell out of it! 9 or 10 inches. Check out that Aaron dudes from the Chopper's of Burbank. The yellow "bad news" one. His is pretty 60's and looks badass!
I voted: CHOP IT!
If you ain't gonna chop it, might as well restore it to original.
Spring in northern Alberta... I got time. It's actually pretty close to being a roller. Just a bit more welding, and gotta find me one of those drop axles for cheap.
Hell, he has months yet!
Nothing cooler then a 4-6 in chop on a T
Wow 201 votes! Nice turnout. Better than the last Canadian federal election.
Keep 'em coming.
Don't chop it just channel it. Mine aint chopped.
^^ That sits nice.
