Hey guys and gals, I picked up a 1930 Model A pickup cab and bed. Looking to build a open wheeled hot rod. On my 29 coupe i used a 9 inch rear. My ? is what rear end is mostly used under the trucks. The bed is narrow and the rear like that i have under my coupe would be way to wide.

  2. 69 to 77 Maverick is 56 1/2" wide. HRP

  3. Ranger rear axles are 56-1/2 inches, Explorer rear ends in the 59-inch range, I believe. Grab your sockets, wrenches and tape measure and head for your neighborhood Pick-N-Pull for an afternoon of fun.

I have a recycle yard blocks away that cars are always getting scraped. Friend of mine owns it. I'll have to stop in a check.

    Ty,
If you don't find one you like, you can always shorten the tubes and shafts and have them re-splined. I can help with some of that. ;-)

40 Ford banjo rear fits nice and they look great, or maybe an F-1 open drive banjo if you're not running an early Flathead.

A maverick rear (if you can find one) is ideal for a full fendered Model A as it keeps the tires in the fenders. If you're going fenderless, a wider rear end will be okay.
