Does anyone have dimensions or know where to find them for a 30/31 roadster subrame/ subrails?? Seems easier and cheaper to buy the floor from brookville unassembled but I don’t have access to a model a for measurements. Or is it best to just pay extra for brookville to assemble it?? Here is one thread that I had saved. Dimensions are metric though. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/model-a-subrail-fab.1082598/ It's a pretty good discussion on the subject. As for buy or fab, that might entirely depend on your fab skills or depth of wallet. Some of us can swing a few pieces of tubing at a time and work a bit and then buy more and work a bit more and others are able to go all in and buy the complete setup and install it. Neither is wrong it's just the difference in how you go about it. The 31 Vic I have has almost all wood subframes in the floor that have have to be replaced but the actual metal floor boards are in pretty decent shape.
Thank you, I seen this diagram on a couple threads but I believe it’s for a 28/29. I’m pretty sure the later ones are a bit different. I called brookeville but the fella wasn’t helpful at all and told me to call Snyder’s who told me to call brookeville Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
I’ve searched multiple times, maybe I’m using the wrong search words but can’t find anything specific to what I’m looking for Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
I see they have frame dimensions which is great, but I don’t see subframe dimensions Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
I’m looking for the same info. Everyone keeps posting the same picture but that’s for a 28-29.... anyone have a 30-31 subframe they would kindly take some measurements from? Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
If you could that would be awesome, measure from outside to outside of the subrails at the front edge of the three subrail supports like this. *******FUTURE HAMBERS, PLEASE DO NOT GO BY THESE MEASUREMENTS!!! JUST AN EXAMPLE OF HOW I WANT IT TO BE MEASURED!! ******** As you can see my subrails are not finished haha Thanks in advance!!
Ok, going from front to back. The first one is 40 1/4” Second 43 1/4”. The rear is just shy of 43”. Mine is on a 32 chassis so the rear measurement is just ahead of the wheel well. Further back the sub rail was modified for the 32 kick up. Hope that helps
