I am ready to put a steel roof in a 29 Model A sedan. I want a ribbed roof in it. Does anyone have any suggestions on what donor roof will fit the size and contour. That will give me something to look for before I go to the junk yard.

Mine here is off of an 80 olds station wagon. Probably the same as a Malibu, buick, or pontiac from the same years. To me the rib spacing is right on. Another thing I like is the center rib is the longest with the others just a tad shorter giving a nice V shape when looking at the car from the front.

I have used a new roof skin fromm a 2000 S-10 Blazer 4 dr. The size is right and the are not expensive new, which saves cutting an old one off.

I put a SMOOTH roof in mine using a 77 Volare station Wagon roof skin, it has chrome ribs but its smooth undernieth, and if you put it on the sedan body but backwards it fits sweet. I just finished welding mine in fully last night actually.

I used a roof off of a '88 s-10 blazer, they are all the same from '83-'94 so they are a dime a dozen............

I used a Jeep Cherokee 4 dr. It has ribs and it was a good fit.

  11. Volvo station wagon roofs are smooth, have a slight crown like a tudor and are common  here in the DC area...

I'm planning to put one on my '28, then cover it with the stock material.

Roof on a early 80's Volvo 245 wagon is plain, no ribs, about 44" + 94" before it gets too much crown but is actually bigger than that.

I haven't used one for a A but It works great so far for a lawnmower shed roof!

Just got back from the yard where FlamedAbone and I just cut the roof on a mini van for his hotrod. Seen a volvo wagon there that had a smooth roof that I may go back for.

Here is about a 2000 or so Mazda Millenium or MPV roof.

You cut it right where the outer most ribs start to hump up and it is just barely fucking wide enough. You end up with just the two humps that look like racing stripes.

I won't know if it looks guy till its in there painted and flamed.

    Wish me luck, -Abone.

As someone already stated, Dodge Caravan. I put one in my 30 tudor sedan. Try to find the extended Caravan as the ribs will then run from the visor to the rear of your sedan....
