I've got a friend who absolutely loves 4-doors. I knew they can be made cool but until I met him, I was pretty sure I'd never own one but he's changed my mind and I really want one.

All three of my cars are more doors, I actually prefer them.

Some cars I only like as 4 drs, such as 46,7,8 Chryslers. Here is one I did back in1996.

Don't know who owns this, but what a tuff looking Deuce Fordor. 30 years ago I would not have looked twice at it, but today I think it looks great. Funny how that happens!

Here is mine, 49 merc, been working on it for the last couple months off and on. I wanted a 4-door, not a coupe, I like the 4-doors for convience, friends can ride in comfort, plus with the merc you get the cool factor of suicide rear doors. Jim

somewhat OT, but we got 3 fordors, 62 Falcon, 50 Shoebox, 63 Studebaker. We have 1 tudor, 63 Lark Regal.

The Lark had its first drive in who knows how long, I drove, wife in the passenger seat, and 15 year old daughter in the backseat. When we got back I climbed out and shut the door, wife gets out, shuts her door and walks off.

Kid was halfway over the seat when the door shut in her face. It was the squeal that made my wife remember that we were short a couple doors.

That little orange Datsun 410 is neat as hell! I used to think those things were butt-ugly, but I love them now!

WOW! Pretty bold words. A "self respecting rodder" would never down another persons ride just because it doesnt suit their own personal taste. How boring would The HAMB be if we all logged on and every single car was a 2 door just like yours? There would be no diversity at all. Maybe you should keep your negative opinions on the down low. Hey, that's a novel idea!!! People like you like to bring others down to satisfy the discontent within them selves. Maybe you should channel all that anger into working on your car, bet that energy could better be spent there. I see no problem with 4drs. And if you're a 16 year old kid getting his 1st car, they are great because they are more abundant and cheaper. At your ripe age, you should know better... tsk tsk tsk.... shame on you!!! BTW... unless you have some sort of time machine.... it is impossible to step back in time! Time travel hasn't been acheived yet.

I got my drivers licenses in 1965. I graduated high school in 1967. High school parking lots were full of 4 doors. Stock, modified or mild custom, they were everywhere. They were driven by average teenagers, jocks, cool kids, cheerleaders and nerds. Lots of modified 4 doors roamed the streets. Look through old car magazines from the '50's and early '60's. Guess what? More door customs. James Dean even drove a 4 door Merc.

Shh, shh, shhhh. His post was back in 2007. 2 door vs 4 door thing is old. Or so I'm told and I can see how that's true. But yes the HAMB would be boring. And I love 4 doors too.:D

I owned this 48 Windsor about three years ago. Completely stock. If it had been a New Yorker ( like my first one) I'd still own it today.
