Many thanks for the images! Kinda takes the sting out of not being there. Any more images you care to share?

  9. Another great event this year.

Here's a link to feature coverage of Millers at Milwaukee, including a big photo gallery with dozens of images. There was too much to wedge into one feature slot so look for Part 2 or even Part 3.

Please take, share, and use the photos however you like, but if you happen to think of it a credit or especially a link would be nice, thanks much.

I'll throw a few of mine in here that aren't too repetitious.

This Delahaye was a little odd looking, but held an impressively sized V-12.

Something about the Isotta Fraschini appealed to me.

Cool pix! I really wanted to go to this, but I had other plans this weekend. I'll have to make it there next year.

I was REALLY impressed with this event.
I had no idea what to expect...but my boss told me he would get me some good footage.
    We will see what happens....
I have yet to look at it.
It was a great day and I met some cool people.

  14. One of my favorites at Milwaukee (and wherever it appears) is Dave Schleppi's 1961 Chenowth Chevrolet aka San Diego Steel Products Special. It's a conventional roadster of its time -- offset driveline and so on -- but designed from the ground up around a small-block Chevy V8 instead of the usual Offy.

The build quality on this car is over the top. I once asked Dave if maybe the car wasn't a bit over-restored and he said nope, it really was this nice. The car never did well at Indy but went on to a long and distinguished career as a Super Modified, winning the Little 500 at Anderson Speedway.

Thanks guys for the wonderful pics..I was there and put about 50 laps on the Bardahl #15 and the Bowes #33 both owned by Bill Akin of Nashville...WOW what an experience!! We both love the Miller event because it is "laid-back" and plenty of track time..Thanks also to the nice people that promote this event...hopefully see ya in '13. Joe

man-o-man, i have got to be ther next year. Just incedible cars, i'd loved to have seen and heard the JR 8 Spcl do a lap. so many cars, i'd have to spend some time with the #82 Steel Prod Spcl. I spent some time up at oswego and maybe it ran there and maybe it didn't but i do know what it was made for. Wicked. Just wicked.

  20. Ingenuity at its finest with those cars. Great pics, thanks for posting.

Ran there at least once, 1966, with Mickey Shaw driving while it was under Ray Smiths ownership.

A big thank you for posting the photos 40 Olds and thanks to the others too.

I'll no doubt run the viewed count up on some of the photos as I study them for details for my project.

  27. What the heck, here are a few more photos and a link to a second big photo feature on the event. These cars are too great to leave alone. Thanks to the Harry A. Miller Club and the participants for a great show. It's a privilege to see and hear these machines.

  30. Small world! I was there, too. Great show, nice little exhibit. Flint is a car town! Here are some photos from the vintage race car exhibit....

Vintage race cars at the Sloan | Motor City Garage

My favorite vintage race car from this exhibit (along with the Chenowth, of course) was this Kurtis Offy midget offset roadster. What a jewel -- like a miniature Indy roadster.

    Thanks, please enjoy the photos.
