Smitty, go see Smitty in Odessa. Can't remember his name on here. They are the ones that resureceted the custom 40 ford. What are you doing out in Gods country? Visiting in-laws? I am back home now. Holler at me when you get back. TP

Well I live in midland and don't know of anything.

 

There are two very nice dragstips close.

 

Well Nick I know the hot rodders are hangin out somewhere there.

Is Penwell still open?

 

Penwell has re-opened. It is a very nice facility called Caprock now.

 

Well there is the two drag tracks but there is not anything like a weekly meet

 

Look Ronnie Smith or sons at the muffler shop, they have the 40 coupe and several other nice cars....in Odessa not Midland.

 

I think that shop is called performance plus.

 

go to midland to raise a family, go to odessa to raise he**. thats what iv alwas heard, my mother was raised there.

 

I'm open this week would love to go to the track and ck out some race cars. Pm me if you want to get out.

 

Well if you come through Abilene with a car trailer and some money, you sure could get a car here. My dad is scrapping a bunch of his cars. Even if you don't want anything and want to just look around that's fine. What are you going to be driving in?

 

Is Jim Halls Chaparral museum / Rattlesnake raceway still open ? Always wanted to go there.

 

I go see the Jim Hall collection every time I'm in Midland, its awesome!

Take a trailer, you might find a cool old car out there.

 

Rattlesnake is now a rc plane runway. Besides the runway the rest is just over grown with weeds.

I was in Midland last week. Go to the oil and gas museum. That is where the Jim Hall collection is located and it indeed is worth the time and trouble. Jim Hall-what a cat he was and a Texan to boot! The museum is located right off of I-20.
