Ken, I had to go page by page through this thread, tonight, because of our conversation today/ The ole lady will be (P) pissed, but who cares!!
These are really cool cars, and super neat history.

How about a 1958 430-400Hp Super Marauder driving around a Chevelle SS???

Junky- I know its a bit older then what your working on, but it is still an awesome display of big Mercury power.

That '58 Merc came from my wrecking yard about ten years ago. It was bought new by a school teacher in Crater Lake, Oregon where I bought it ten years prior. It was originally equipped with a 383 MEL and three speed on the column, quite unusual.

I just picked up a 64 4 spd car. Has some trunk rust but otherwise seems pretty solid.

The trim and the data tag say Montclair, but all the emblems say Monterey.

It looks all Montclair to me. Do you have a pic of the Interior?if there is Fabric and Vinal in the seats and door Panels, Montclair. All Vinal Monterey.

Im thinking someone swiped your Montclair Emblems

I guess Monterey it is then. It is all vinyl. Thanks for the insight. My 63 must also be a Monterey.

As a graduate of Ovid Elsie High School, this thread makes me recall our vote back in 1966 to name our High School, 'The Ovid-Elsie Marauders'

What a great automobile! and what a great name choice and heritage it has proved to be.

(although I do recall how several teachers groaned that in selecting this name, we were identifying ourselves as being a bunch of destructive and uncouth savages,....of course these were the same teachers that told us that we'd 'Never get anywhere driving around in circles'. :D

GO MARAUDERS! ....and you guys too!
