    how much does a chop on a 49-50 merc cost these days :confused:

    Hey,

    How heavy of a chop? Heavy chops require more metalwork and
    thus command a higher price. A straight Bpost or canted? A canted
    post will run into more money, as more time and skill is required to
    complete one to perfection. With or without garnish mouldings cut,
    and glass cut as well? again more money.
    A total bullshit chop, squirtgun welds, little if any plastic work and
    no glass would probably start in the 2K area. If someone quotes
    you this figger in the SoCal area, run away! A real chop, from a
    guy who knows what he's doing, will run in the area of 6-7.5 K
    Much above that, the guy 'better be a big-name superstar and
    that job better be ready to roll into the booth!
