History Memory failed!

I knew this make and model off by heart, and now (I'm only 77 years old) --- help!

 

Auburn 1935-36 (Last years of production for Auburn). I'm 78, had to reference "American Car Spotter's Guide 1920-1939".

Holy moly. The old photo was taken outside a seedy hotel in Vancouver BC's red-light street. Although the car was dirty, 'somebody' could afford to buy one ------------

 

How is it that you know about a seedy hotel in the "Red Light" district ?
