In the early 80s I ran a pair of M/T aluminum valve covers on my old 56 Pontiac with a 389 but didn't really care for them....I even milled off the M/T and filled the flat part with a pair of 421 tags taken off a 63 Catalina. Since then I've probably owned and sold 5 more pairs of those Pontiac M/T valve covers. Then, the other day I saw a pair of them on the HAMB classifieds and I thought they looked great...bought them. I guess my tastes have changed. I plan to replace the Chinese [not traditional] ebay finned covers with the M/T covers. Is it just me or have some parts that we previously didn't like become more appealing?
