What's the simplest way to lower an A a few inches. Don't mind it as is but probably like it a little lower Txs

Reversed eye springs will get you about an inch maybe a frog hair more. Easy to do on the front, Usually guys buy a new main leaf for the rear.

A later non-dropped axle from a '32 through '36 will lower about another 1 to 1.5". You will have to shim the A wishbone which has a 2 1/4" "fork" to fit the thinner 2" spring perch on the later axle.

You can also gain a bit by simply removing a few extranious leaves from the spring pack.

  5. A reversed eye main leaf.
    A dropped leaf spring.
    Or remove a couple leaves.
Having the stock axle “stretched” by a place like Nostalgia Sids Axles.

Here's my plan Im keeping the stock brakes at this stage.

T spring in the rear Thanks @lake_harley
Refurb non dropped 36 Front axle from Okie Joes Speed Shop (will make 1/4 spacers myself)
    32 Spring perches from @tommym
I will disasemble front spring and reverse the eye (youtube has quite a few vids)
    35 wheels with 550/750 x 16 Firestones

As an alternative Im told a complete 32 front end will be basically be a bolt in and get you a couple inches but you will need to confirm that.

It seems to me that the simplest way is to use the '35 16 inch wheels. If you have 21 inch wheels now that would drop you about 2.5 inches.

Reverse eye spring 36 ford axel and a model t spring. That’s the recipe I used on this car B7EDE543-8730-4017-A10C-AC2737997367.jpeg

    I’ve done a couple now.
Reverse eye springs are a good idea and take a few leaves out.
That will get you 1-1/2” maybe a little more. 2”max but

On one of my cars I bought a A width model T shaped spring with a reversed eye from someone in the classifieds. I think I took 1 or 2 leaves out.
It worked the best and handled well.
I combined that with a 32 axle, reverse eye main leaf, 32 perches, 32 spindles and 32 brakes.
Worked great, matched the drop in the rear and better brakes.
Close to 3-1/2” or 4” drop when done.

If any one is interested in going that route, you need spacers for the original wishbone and the spring perches.
there’s a old thread on this years back on lowering Model As with stock brakes
    That’s where I learned it
