So I decided to finally lower my 1950 Buick. We took a coil out of each spring. You'll see the stance is just right for this car. I didn't want it too low. Its about 3" lower then stock. See tell me what you think!
looks good, did the same to my 52 special 2dr, then did some more, a little too much now, glad you showed some restraint...i have none.....lol......looks good
Looks great! I got a question for you-it looks like the rear springs are the tapered kind. How did you go about cutting them and re-making the tapered part for the spring seat?
hey racer, answering for him, you don`t really have to have the taper at the top of those springs, the bucket at the top is larger than the big part of the spring and the weight of the car is want holds it in at the top, and a single bolt at the bottom.
Yes because the car weights 4,600 lbs the weight of the car holds the read coils in! When its jacked up and you lower it they make a loud "pop" and then they're in! I do like how it rides now too because it lowered the center of gravity and its not so "big boat floating down the water" its nice and tight and smooth. (the opposite of what most people would say!) Next thing is to get some chrome spider caps.
yeah, they do actually drive better when lowered, i`d do a little more in the back, but thats me, otherwise, looks good, i`d do the discs in the front next........scarebird....very nice stuff.....
