I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. My dad is 74, and we still do all the builds together, so i can only imagine how you feel. My prayers are with you.
Danny , so sorry to hear about your loss..... My dad passed away 2 months ago and he was an old hotrodder too.... enjoy the memories of the fun times you had with him... They say the loss will get easier as time goes by..... I hope it is true..... Bill
Hey Danny, I share your grief..My Dad passed in 2006 at 83, ( his name was Danny to). Miss him everyday. The Greatest Generation. Just keep think- ing of the good times and what you shared. I feel we were lucky to have them;some never get to have a Dad or know them. That's what keeps me going. It will help you too. My best to you.
sorry to hear Danny, build the deuce and treasure him within, keep him alive within your own person, all my blessings
Condolences from FL. I know how it goes. My Dad painted my house and a week later he was gone. Ruptured Aorta. Was a shocker to say the least. My God be with you and your's over these trying times.
You said it , man..... Gotta keep 'em close and spend as much time as possible with them because they leave us way to soon. My dad's been gone for 27 years (died at 63) and there is hardly a day goes by that I don't think about him, especially out in the shop. Take comfort in the fact that as long as he is in your memory he'll be standin' right there, hammerin' you to get that coupe done. Rich
I think about that phone call coming all the time. Im not in the same town as my parents anymore. My dad and I would go every saturday morning to breakfast with all the old car guys. now looking back I wish i could go back there.
Condolences from Downunder Danny.......Your Dad sounded like a Great Man & I dare say passed on a lot of Rodding knowledge to you & now you will finish the Coupe in his Memory. Hal Deacon 1936 - 2009
From your post it is obviuos that the love flowed both ways in your relationship with your fathers. My sincere condolences.
I just wanted to Thank you all for your kind words. It means a lot to me to know there are people out there that care about others they dont even know. My Dad was a very special , careing man that would help a stranger at the drop of a hat and I see that in all The Hamb people on here all the time. This is realy a very cool place. Thanks again and God Bless You All. Duecevw
I got that phone call you describe 9/13/05. Get the car done - life is short for everyone - including you!
My condolences. Keep his memory in your mind every day. Be grateful for the times you had together, (not all of us had those!) And yeah, build the deuce and drive the wheels off it! May your dad rest in peace.
Sorry for your loss... the time to start making memories is NOW. I lost my dad before we could do a lot of stuff... I was busy truckin' and he didn't want to spend the $$$ traveling... pretty dumb if you think about it. I'd give up a whole lot to have just one more year with him.
I only now stumbled across this site. Hal was a dear friend in high school. I worked in his gas station. Gas was $0.19 per gallon! I think you are probably the kid that Hal and Valerie had.... I was madly in love with Valerie later when you were a little guy. I dated her and we had some wonderful times that I still cherish. I went on in life and after many years in Hawaii and raising 2 sons I am settled in Belize, Central America. The best to you! If you still have contact with Valerie say hello for me!
