Lost a car guy and buddy last nite.

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by fordnutz, Mar 19, 2004.

  1. At 1:20 this morning my Dad passed away at 78. He had several illnesses, none of which he would recover from. My Mom and sister and I were at his side. He wasn't a car guy in the strictest sense, but he allowed me to be one. when I was a teen his car always sat out in the snow and cold and my junk, usually non-running, occupied the garage. He never complained about it either. Only on one occasion did he get upset and that is when my parents went on holiday for 3 weeks and he came home and couldn't get in the driveway because of all the cars I had accumulated while he was away. He never built a car, but always enjoyed showing off my cars at the car events he attended with us. I only wish I could have finished my T tub in time for him to take a ride. He really liked that car. Gonna miss my buddy. Nutz

Thoughts and prayers are with you. Lost Dad about 9 years ago. Sounds like you had a good relationship. That counts for a lot.

Sounds from your discription. Your pop was a guy who gave you room to grow up and shared and was proud of your accomplishments. I would like to extend my sorrow to you and your family. I too lost my father ten years ago. I miss him everyday. PJ

  24. Nutz,
Sorry to hear it friend. My Ol' Man want a year ago in Jan. You can always say that he's in a better place but that doesn't change the fact that he's gone.
I'm hear if you need something

  27. My deepest condolences to you and your family. It sounds as though you and your dad had a very strong relationship.I didn't get to meet my father until I was 44 years old,but we enjoyed a very close relationship until he left us at the age of 91.He's still with me in spirit and I'm sure your dad will be also.

  29. When I must leave you for a little while,
Please go on bravely with a gallant smile
And for my sake and in my name,
Live on and do all things the same,
Spend not your life in empty days,
But fill each waking hour in useful ways,
Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer,
And I in turn will comfort you and hold you near.

My best wishes to you ....I hope my poem will help with some healing....God bless!
