Well after unsucessfully trying to locate my grampas truck. I came across this lil beauty. The cab is straight few pin holes looks like someone hacked the fire wall a bit but otherwise a solid piece looks like the frame was reinforced too. Now to get everything and anything billet and chrome for it.....Not!!! Price was right too the frame was worked on and a rear end put in.
Don't let manyolcars see this, he might accuse you of not being a hot rod guy because trucks are for grandpas and farmers...then again, he's a douchebag and nobody listens to him...nice start for a HOT ROD...I'm sure your wheels are already turning as to what the drivetrain will be, so, what's the plan?
Cool find. 40 pickups are neat...and seeing that one was an old hot rod...that much neater. Did you get the bed and rear fenders too? Neal
Not sure yet I didnt think Id ever be getting a 40 Ford. I do have a buddy with a 352 and a few 289s laying around.Frame looks like it has been beefed up a bit. I dont plan on starting on it till maybe the summer I still need to focus on finishing my Z-28.
The frame does look cool with the ladder bars. Nice find, but I would do the Z28 last. Keep us posted, looking forward to your build updates.
Nice start, I envy you guys in Calif, that cab would have at least 8 inches rusted off the bottom here in the N.E. Be sure to post pictures of the build.
Well not much left to do on the Camaro and I have a cruise down the coast this spring.Ive worked to hard and struggled to get it to where its at. I need to go to he DMV and see how I go about getting the 40 registered. theres no numbers on it.
I figured that you bitch about everything else, why would trucks be any different? Apparently we're not allowed to own or talk about anything without your approval first by the way you talk...
hahahah I just read some of his other posts. I can sum them up. Hey thats not traditional. Hey thats a rat rod!!! too funny.
If thats a 40 ford frame, it should have numbers stamped on the frame close to where the steering box bolts on.
Yep, if mine I would go to great lengths to save them and use for the next go around......................
