Not that you used WIKI...That's what others tend to believe in. The problem with WIKI, is that anyone can add or delete to it so who knows what is really said in it.

Speaking of chicken and things sold at McDonald's. I know a franchisee in Columbus Ohio, who thought he was going to get away with selling his own bbq chicken and ribs out of his store. "McCorp" got wind of it and pulled his license to operate. They don't mess around.

So much history for the fast food fan. McDonald's especially as it is noted around the globe.

The local customs of how the food is prepared in each country. The different styles of condiments used and flavors of the meats.

I'm happy that In-N-Out remains in America.

I was going to open a burger joint. I was going to call it "RACERS". Of course it would have had a car theme some what like Mel's. I was going to have a decent menu like In-N-Out. Just burgers and fries and drinks nothing fancy with good prices and good music with local bands...Have monthly car shows and weekly car get togethers on the weekends with family fun of parking lot games...And I'm sure impromptu car shows of clubs or individuals just showing up to show off their rods...But life got in the way. SIGH...

I'm always looking for a decent property with a restaurant on it in the Riverside area. I just might still do it.

I really miss Guy's Grinders that was in Riverside. Had a decent car culture and really good grinders and was around the corner from our house.

  3. Weds night was In N Out night followed by Back to the Future on the big screen. I've been trying to get them to play some old car movies, but still nothing.........every once and awhile they'll play AG (American Graffiti).

Me too!. One of the guy's that worked there had a cool 64 Comet. It was red and he got too many tickets, so he painted it brown.

Most of the time we would go to Guy's Grinders instead of Tuxies on Magnolia. Tuxies was almost always too busy.

I would go to George's a lot on Magnolia across from the old General Hospital, which is now Lowes, after cruising Market Street.

I'd thought about something similar, but making it more of a rodder's destination. Buy the Van Buren Drive-in, put some decent food in it and get rid of the (non-auto) swap meet.

Perfect! All they sell there is new junk toys anyway. I stopped going in there 30 years ago.

Anybody ever see any cruising action at a Sonic drive-in? I ask because they're pretty much the only places left that have car hops. There are plenty of old cars in my area but I don't see them hang out at either of the Sonics in town.

We have a Sonic in Duarte off of Rte 66. In the 9 years that it’s been built, really haven’t seen a cruise nite in all of that time, but the young guys with the off topic cars meet over at the Best Buy around the corner and have 300 cars show up to that deal.
It’s really a different crowd. What we need is another group of really kool movies and tv series that show case the H.A.M.B. Lifestyle in order to inject a little life into what we love.

No idea. I just drive around when I get bored in my HHR or Ford Escape while drinking a diet soda and pretending that I'm in my coupe.

    I am so uncool...

  20. It would only be a 41 hour drive to my favourite Whataburger on San Bernardo in Laredo TX. Between 1970 and 1973, I used to drive down there at least once a week in my avitar, and order the deluxe cheeseburger and a side of jalapeño peppers.
There is a regular Thursday night get together at the local A&W, but I haven't been there in a while.

    Bob
