I am just about finished with my 39 Chevy sedan. I really do not want to use the original trim pieces on the hood sides cause I think it will look like crap with the new paint design. I will post both pics; original and new painted hood. Love to hear your thoughts.
    Thanks

I'd paint the "holes' flat blak and use only the top and bottom pieces of trim...maybe put a third in the middle...not use all four...

Besides, it's a bit late to do anything else now that you've painted it...

    StudeDude,
Thanks, I think the flat black "holes" is a good idea. I was thinking about possibly taking some small square bar brass stock, grinding some angle to the face & plating it. I would not put the 4 pieces in a rectangle like the original but maybe more following the contour of the hood. Not too sure what this might end up looking like but I think it would be better than original...
