Hot Rods Looking For Mike Hickey's Altered...

    ...really, just any photos of it. I know this is going to be a stretch but maybe there are some long timers from the Lemont - Lockport - Joliet, Illinois area that might have a memory or photo of a particular ride.

    At least up to around 1970 I had a neighbor in Lemont, Illinois named Mike Hickey. Mike built what I remember as a '23 T altered which I believe was Hemi powered. I saw the car only a handful of times since it seemed that Mike kept it from prying eyes away in his garage. I was with, though, when he picked the car up from being painted by "Little Ray" in Lockport. Being the numbskull I was as a teen, I neglected to take a picture when we had the car in a wide open space with no distractions.

    That, I'm afraid, is all the info I have. I don't remembered if it was lettered with Mike Hickey's name on it, but I seem to think the car was green. Back then, the home track would have been Oswego Drag Raceway.
