Made the deal in this nice 49 merc 4 door. It has a clean chop well done, some custom body mods. Found lead in these areas. Guy I purchased from claims when he bought the car was shown multiple magazines and clippings from 80’s and pics from early in 1960’s etc. also told it came from Southern California in this early era. The car was clearly redone in the 80’s. I do know there’s dreamers and story tellers out there but still curious if any of this holds true. Does anyone happen to have any info on it? Anything is greatly appreciated. Thanks
If you hit the "full image" button before the "reply" button your images will be bigger making it easier for folks to ID the car.
I work in Lancaster Hellbound hot rods and believe I seen that Merc driving around the Lancaster area but was from Cal City. Friend of a friend told me that it just sold recently so that must be when you got it. I want to see it had a Ford motor in it like a 460 or something like that I can't remember
I remember it from the How to Build Custom Cars book but don’t recall anything before that. I sure do like it though and has one of the best 4dr chops I’ve seen. Congrats on the purchase!!
