I need a mixing formula for 1959 Ford "Geranium". It's sort of salmon/coral. Must be adaptable to paint products available now, not "nitrocelluacryilUnobtaniumllose" Any help will be apprecialated.
If you have a panel with the color on it that you need and it's in fairly good shape your local PPG paint supplier has a nifty little briefcase thing they use to match the color. They put it on the panel and it spits out the formula on most non metallic colors. Give em a hollar or take the panel to them. Ain't modern tehcnology wonderful.
Cadlights is right. I have it done all the time. It's called "shooting a profit",they can mix in any of there paints. TP
Martin Senour formula is 2965..in an Old formula book....will call the tech people tomorrow & see if ya can mix in in a single stage

Thanks Mikeyboy-and TP and cadlights (maybe I'll give the ray-gun method another try if'n I can't get a formula)
Tried the shoot the panel thing....found of all things, a washcloth that was the closest thing to the color i want to paint my 46.....shot it with this high dollar spectrowhamajama gun, or something like that....the computer spits out Big Boy Flesh pull the color up on the microfiche....and there it is...above Big Boy Hair, and Big Boy Lips..I mixed a pint, and took it to the car show my painter buddy and i were working that weekend. At the show was a mid fifties truck...in a shade of peach realy close to what i wanted. So i showed the paint i had mixed to the Hippie, and asked how do i get from this color to that?? He looks in the can in my hand, looks at the truck ,and sez.."loose the black & brighten up the yellow up a shade" I guess 30 years of painting gives a certain insight into things...... Sorry this is so long...but the moral of the story is If ya can get close...a good paint guy can get ya there...once again, i'll hit the tech folks up tomorrow & see what i can find hope this helps
Contact a shop there in the Springfield area who uses Sikkens products, they should have a catalog containing color chips and you should be able to come up with the color your looking. If you can't find a shop,I'm about 3 hours southeast of ya and I can help ya out.
